SHIITAKE
Lentinula edodes (Black Forest mushroom) has become very popular rivaling even the button mushroom and portobello. They are very popular in Asian countries. It is cultivated all around the world. This S75 strain is highly aggressive and will tolerate a wide range of temperatures. It’s a great shiitake strain for beginners, as well as commercial producers. Grows on inoculated hardwood logs and hardwood sawdust blocks.
The Shiitake has a deep, full bodied flavor that is often described as rich, buttery, or filled with umami and provides savory flavor to any dish.
